May Our Name Be Forever
Inscribed In “the Book of Life”!
“May Your Name Be Inscribed In The
Book of Life!” is the famous Jewish greeting on holiday cards during the
Jewish fall holidays. “Howbeit on the tenth day of
this seventh month is the Day of Atonement [yom haKippurim]; there shall be a holy convocation unto you,
and ye shall afflict your souls; and ye shall bring an offering made by fire
unto YAHWEH. And ye shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a
day of atonement, to make atonement for you before YAHWEH your Elohim. For
whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in
that same day, he shall be cut off from his people. And whatsoever soul it be
that doeth any manner of work in that same day, that soul will I destroy from
among his people. Ye shall do no manner of work; it is a statute for ever
throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be unto you a
Shabbat of solemn rest, and ye shall afflict your souls; in the ninth day of
the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye keep your Shabbat.” – (Leviticus 23:27-32); Ten days after Yom Teruah (Rosh Hashanah), after the
first day of the Fall season, Jewish people around the world will fast for 25
hours (Leviticus 23:27-32) and go to synagogue to prayer in white garments –
it's Yom Kippur, also known as the
Day of Atonement, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. |
“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the
seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls,
and shall do no kind of work, the native-born, or the stranger who lives as a
foreigner among you And
[this] shall be a statute for ever unto you: [that] in the seventh month, on
the tenth [day] of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at
all, [whether it be] one of your own country [a native-born], or a stranger
that sojourneth among you: For
on that day shall [the Cohen] make an atonement for you, to purify you,
[that] ye may be Tahor (clean) from all your sins before Yahweh. It
[shall be] a Shabbat of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a
statute for ever. And
the Cohen, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in
the Cohen’s office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall
put on the linen clothes, [Erev] the Bigdei haCodesh (Set apart garments): And
he shall make atonement for the Cadosh Mikdash (sanctuary), and he shall make
atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he
shall make atonement for the Cohenime (Priests), and for all the people of
the congregation. And
this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make atonement for the

prayers to rid themselves of the sins they’ve committed over the past year. – Acts of Ap.29:8-9; |
This year again most of
the 14 million Jews around the world will attend these Yom haKippurim synagogue
services, and my heart cries out for them because they do not know Yeshua (Romans
The majority of jewish belivers do not know that
they are not made more right by the "Study of Torah" but
by "Keeping the Torah" that makes us upright before Elohim
literally (Romans
2:13), by believing and responding as
our duty to His love showed to us by sending His only
existing son about which is written in Moses, the rest are just
the "Works of Torah" and tradition that cant make or motivate someone
to be more righteous or upright.
Yom Kippur in the Time of
Messiah
Young male goat,
near Jerusalem. It whould be
offered as a sin sacrifice or used
as the scapegoat. |
When the First and |
The Azazel (Scapegoat)
The high priest would then go out into the Temple court and, laying his hands over the head of the scapegoat, confess over it the sins of the people of Israel. That goat would be taken outside the city and released into the wilderness. This symbolized the removal (carrying away) of the sins from the people of Israel. According to the Talmud, a scarlet cord was tied around the neck of the scapegoat. This cord was reported to have turned white as the goat was led away from the city.
In the Mishnah, it is reported that for the past fifty years before the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD – about same time frame when Yeshua (Jesus) was offered as a substitute for the final sacrifice for sin – since then the noose around the scapegoat neck never become whiter as before.
Yeshua (Jesus), has hauled away all our sins "as is far east to west" (Psalm 103:12). Messiah is not only the High Priest, but He is the final sacrifice that took us all our sins.
Because of that, Your Name is written in the Book of Life. Imagine, if in all the synagogues around the world, the rabbis were discussing with their congregants the links between the scarlet cord, the scapegoat, and Yeshua. . And imagine if all the synagogues during the fall holidays actually would recite as Yeshua (Jesus) fulfilled the messianic holidays revealed in the Scriptures.
Yeshua commands us to be a part of the Great Commission. It's your and my responsibility to share the Good News.
